The company I am recruiting for is a US based firm with 70+ employees. Their product is video chat application that brings their users closer to the people who matter most without asking them to compromise on trust.
Job Description:
In this role, you will report to the CEO and be responsible for managing a team of Backend Software engineers and DevOps engineers.
Responsibilities:
- You will manage a team of 6 – 4 BE Engineers and 2 DevOps staff
- They are looking for someone who can hold a point of view on architecture, work estimation, ensure the team is staying away from pitfalls and be involved in cross team planning meetings
- The role with be 75% people management and 25% individual contributor work
- The IC work is code reviews, some higher-level problem solving, a little coding but you won’t be in the critical path but rather to help unblock
Job Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive backend software engineering experience
- 2+ years of management experience
- Technical experience using Python in server-side development
- Deep expertise in AWS
- Strong background in server engineering and DevOps

Base salary CA$250,000/yr – CA$325,000/yr
